Carmel by the Green is a healthy vegan friendly eatery with a laid-back Californian vibe. The inspiration for this café came to the owner Saida, at the seaside town of Carmel by the Sea during a road trip across the Californian coastline. Leaving her job of 10 years in London's financial industry, Saida set up Carmel by the Green to bring fresh eating habits fostered from many years of living in California to the London Bethnal Green area.
The café offers fresh juices and smoothies, as well as a selection of salads, traditional breakfasts, a miscellany of lunch choices, raw cakes, and gluten free options. The focus is on clean, healthy foods combining superfoods and organic produce. Additionally, all of our desserts are naturally and deliciously vegan and our exquisite selection of meals are always made fresh to order.
Artisan coffee is blended specifically for the café by a small batch roastery. The west coast seaside decor adds to the relaxed feel.
The ethos of the cafe is to support small businesses, local partners, and up and coming artists. The cafe has a small gallery space where art is rotated periodically managed by WAVE Collective.
